Blanco and his work

A self taught artist from a city of Miami, Robert Blanco is both studio painter and street artist. In his studio, he uses acrylic paint for canvas works. In streets, he uses spray cans for mural works. Majority of his work are influenced by his surroundings and how he experiences from them. From that surroundings, he processes his own inspiration from organic pattern of nature to cityscapes into his work.

In today’s time, Blanco is a successful artist traveling and painting nonstop. However, it was not all like that before. In fact, he was in different profession until the catastrophic event COVID19 occurred. This documentary piece tells a story of his return to art scene with a new artistic style called ‘unfazed’. The style and its origins are what inspired Everyartist to collaborate with Blanco.

In today’s time, societal/social elements and their byproducts influence one’s decision making. To certain extent, people may make decisions that are influenced by other element not solely based on what the people truly desire. And, they make decisions set by or shaped by societal expectations and ‘standards‘. This is what Blanco realized during COVID19.

Blanco’s story and his ‘unfazed‘ style encourages us to focus on what our heart says while being indifferent to other societal/social expectation set upon us.
